Explorers Class

The Explorers class is for younger toddlers, anywhere from 14 to 28 months.  These children are beginning to explore their world and their independence.  They begin eating in the cafeteria for lunch and they begin attending weekly chapel with the older children.  The teachers complete lesson plans which include daily art, music, science, Bible, and play times.  They are learning to feed their pet fish and water their classroom plants, and they are working on their social and emotional skills.  These children are also included in our annual Christmas and Graduation programs, held in the evenings.  Hearing them sing Jesus Loves Me and watching them do introductory sign language is enough to melt one's heart. :)

The ratio for this class is 1:6.  This class can have 11 children with two teachers daily.

The teachers for the Explorers class are as follows:

Miss Tasha Lawson has worked at ILCAP since March of 2007.  She began with the 3 and 4 year olds, and has moved to working with the toddlers.  She has her Child Development Associate Degree, and has previous experience babysitting children.  She is also attending Cosmetology school in the evenings.  She attends Immanuel Lutheran Church. She is here Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
Mrs. Letitia Rohwer has worked at ILCAP since May of 2009.  She began with the 3 year olds, but moved to the toddlers and found a great team with Miss Tasha!  She has her Child Development Associate Degree and has worked with children for many years.  She has two children of her own, one who attends the preschool and one who is currently in Kindergarten at ILCA. She and her family also attend Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Miss Sarah Jones has worked at ILCA Preschool since September of 2008.  She moved here from Florida in 2008 to attend Rhema Bible Training Center.  She is going to school at Rhema each morning and works at ILCAP from 1:30 to 6pm Monday through Friday.  She attends Rhema Bible Church.
